Is there really a free plan?
Yes. Free costs nothing and asks for no card. It includes the editor, the canvas, presenting, recording, sharing and export, with 10 presentations generated in any 30 days. Paid plans add a larger AI allowance, AI image generation and Live Director.
What does the AI actually do?
You describe the talk in a sentence or two, and can attach your own notes or a .pptx, .docx or Markdown file for it to draw on. It first proposes a narrative map: movements and moments, each stating its purpose and what the audience leaves with. You reorder and rewrite the map, then it writes the scenes and places them on the canvas. Everything it writes stays editable, and you can regenerate one moment without touching the rest.
Can the audience see my speaker notes?
No. The window the room sees never loads your speaker notes; they stay on your private presenter console. The phone remote and share links do not carry them either.
How much does it cost?
Free is $0 for 10 AI-generated presentations in any 30 days. Captivate Basic is $12 a month for 25, and Captivate Pro is $25 a month for 60. Billing is monthly. Cancelling keeps every presentation, asset and recording you have made.
Can I bring in my existing PowerPoint?
Not as it looks. A .pptx is read in your browser in its running order — titles, bullets and speaker notes — and a new presentation is written from it; a .docx seeds one the same way. Layouts, pictures and branding do not come across. Going the other way works: export a .pptx that PowerPoint and Keynote open, with your notes intact.
Do people need an account to take part?
No. A share link opens in any browser, and when you put a question to the room, people answer on their own phones without an account or an app.
